# Account Letter

> Download the proof of account ownership letter for one of your virtual accounts. The letter is dated with the current UTC date and names the account holder, account number, routing details and bank.

## Authentication

- `X-Api-Key`: Your Noah API key. Required on all requests. See [API Keys](/api-concepts/authentication/api).
- `Api-Signature`: Digitally signed JWT used to verify request authenticity. Optional in sandbox when your API key has no associated signing public key; required in production for all requests. If sent, the signature is always validated. See [Request Signing](/api-concepts/authentication/signing).

## Responses

### 200 — The account letter.

### 400 — Bad request

### 401 — Client is not authorized to perform this action

### 403 — Forbidden. `DenyExtension` gives the reason: `VerificationRequired` when the account holder's verification is not approved, or `AccountStatus` when the account holder or your business is not active. The customer's verification state is on the `Customer` object.

### 404 — Not found. The virtual account does not exist or does not belong to your business, or no account letter is offered for it, such as a closed or pooled account.

### 500 — Internal server error
